Tim Metzger is an ACADEMY AWARD® NOMINATED filmmaker and New York based director of photography. Tim recently completed the 6-part Discovery series RISING: Rebuilding Ground Zero, executive produced by Steven Spielberg. Tim served as director of photography on this landmark series filmed over a year and a half at the site of the new World Trade Center. |
| Tim also shot and produced last year’s OSCAR® NOMINEE Sun Come Up, a documentary film about some of the world’s first climate refugees. The film has played over 50 festivals worldwide and premiered on HBO in October 2011. His work for Discovery, National Geographic and History Channel has taken Tim around the world for series and specials such Engineering an Empire and The Dark Ages. Other highlights include shooting the award-winning narrative feature Li Tong in Beijing, climbing the Statue of Liberty for NOVA, hunting anacondas in Venezuela, and crossing the Siberian Arctic aboard a Russian nuclear icebreaker. His latest theatrical film is Leh Wi Tok, a documentary about independent radio in Sierra Leone, shot on the canon 7D. Tim co-founded Big Red Barn Films in 2010 with Sun Come Up director/producer Jennifer Redfearn. |
